Text Box:   The Redcliffe Kite Club Inc. is responsible for organizing the Redcliffe Kitefest,  held each year on the 3rd weekend of May; Redcliffe Kitefest has won the Brisbane Regional Tourism Award 3 years in a row and was placed in the Brisbane Tourism Hall of Fame for this achievement. Redcliffe Kitefest has been bringing together professional Kite flyers from all over Australia for the past 11 Years and with the attached Markets, Food Stalls, Kite Stalls, Amusement Rides and speciality stalls, Kitefest attracts crowds of around 20,000 to 25,000 each year.  Kites of all shapes and sizes appear throughout the weekend, from a Giant Trilobite, Ray, Squid, Mermaid, Frilly Lizard, Sun Flowers to name a few. Dual line formation flying, Dual Line Kite Stacks, Quad Line Kites, Kite Trains,  Kite Arches and Kite Line laundry fill the sky with spectacular colour. Kite Flying Starts Saturday at 10am to 4pm Sunday Flying Starts 9am to 4pm Because Kitefest has grown immensely over the last few years flyers attending are by invitation only.
